Zhong Wuhuo is reborn at the dawn of the arrival of the “weird rules.” In his previous life, he was the greatest codebreaker of them all, but he broke down after uncovering the despairing truth behind the world. This time, he decides to play by different rules.
Instead of struggling to decipher the rules, he uses his memories of his past life to deliberately perform all kinds of “contradictory actions” in the haunted domains: turning around in a corridor where looking back is forbidden, saving the sacrifice during a ritual that demands one, and sitting perfectly still under a rule that guarantees death.
Everyone thinks he’s gone mad and is trying to kill himself. Then, to their horror, they discover that the indescribable, inviolable entities have all fallen into “logical deadlock” and rule disorder because of Zhong Wuhuo’s actions. Instead of killing him, they freeze like glitching programs, spontaneously and tremulously generating new rules around his “contradictory” actions, then waiting rigidly for his next move, as if he’s the one pressing the “run” or “delete” key.
Only then does Zhong Wuhuo calmly speak his first command to the void: “First new rule: remain silent in my presence.”
From that moment on, deep within the haunted domains around the world, all the indescribable entities hold their breath and await his next command. But his true aim isn’t to rule the weird: it’s to use the “power of rules” to repair, or even reverse, the deeper “initial flaw” that caused the world to change.
