[Fictional Southeast Asia + Second-Chance Romance + Powerful Family + Possessive Pursuit]
Fang Ling and Xie Lanzhou broke up seven years ago. She never imagined that when they met again, it would be as a teacher and a student’s parent.
She said, “It’s nice to meet you, Mr. Xie.”
He raised an eyebrow. “But you look awfully familiar to me, Teacher. Maybe this is a reunion, not a first meeting?”
She thought it was just a chance encounter, but he seized the opportunity to force his way back into her life and stir up a storm.
Back then, they were adoptive siblings, lovers, and each other’s closest confidants. Now he was a powerful member of parliament, while she was an ordinary woman whose scumbag ex had stolen all her savings, leaving her frantic over how to pay for her grandmother’s surgery.
Just when she was at her wit’s end, he offered her a helping hand.

He had spent seven years laying his plans, advancing step by step, all so she would never be able to escape him again.
Even after learning that she had a new boyfriend, he merely brushed the ash from his cigarette and laughed softly.
“Your wings have grown strong, and now you want to fly away. But where could you go? In the end, you’ll still come back to me.”
She knew it was bait meant to lure her into his grasp, yet she willingly took it.
Perhaps, just as all the waters in the world eventually meet again, the rain of their parting had cycled through the currents and flowed into the rainy season brought by the tropical monsoon, waiting to fall once more when they were reunited.
I like the title of the book very much, and the overall plot is OK, but it feels too short, so many things are not introduced. I feel like I can properly write about the childhood events of the male and female protagonists, because these are all mentioned in a few sentences. Also, why are the gold jewelry of grandma marked with the word "Chen"? Will Xie Zhili become the second Xie Lanzhou?
It's okay, but some aspects were not explained clearly.
Lively and interesting, nothing surprising at the moment
