Main couple: Wu Xie × Zhang Qiling

Side couple: Hei Xiazi × Xie Yuchen

A bronze mystery lies hidden in the depths of the Qinling Mountains. An anonymous letter brings to light memories lost by the Zhang family. Wu Xie and Zhang Qiling venture into danger, with Hei Xiazi and Xie Yuchen joining them. The four are trapped in the Mysterious Ruins Tomb, solving one puzzle after another and protecting one another at every turn.

Wu Xie is 180 cm tall, and Zhang Qiling is 179 cm. That one-centimeter difference is Wu Xie’s unique source of confidence and control. He drapes an arm around Zhang Qiling’s shoulders to shield him, leans close to explain the whole puzzle in his ear, and lowers his head to press their foreheads together and steady his wandering mind. The Wu Xie who returned from the Sand Sea has long since become the one in control, keeping aloof Zhang Qiling safely in his heart. That one-centimeter gap holds a possessiveness and tenderness that belong to Wu Xie alone, making him Zhang Qiling’s only anchor in the human world.

Hei Xiazi is 188 cm tall, and Xie Yuchen is 187 cm. The same one-centimeter difference gives Xie Yuchen a clever way to turn the tables. He rises on his toes to seize Hei Xiazi’s wrist and strip away his careless act, raises a hand to press his brow and cut off the teasing, and bends down to confront him face-to-face as they settle on a plan. Calm and decisive, Xie Yuchen never indulges Hei Xiazi’s flirting, but stands shoulder to shoulder with him in danger. That one-centimeter height difference is the understanding of evenly matched opponents, and a devotion neither will admit to.

Protecting each other as the tomb passage collapses, calling to one another through illusions, and binding themselves together in life-or-death moments: all their devotion, reliance, teasing, and tenderness are hidden in that one-centimeter difference in height.

Deep in the Mysterious Ruins Tomb, bronze bells ring. With that one centimeter as their pact, they uncover the tomb’s secrets and protect the people by their sides, journeying from the depths of the Qinling Mountains into all the years still to come.
