In 261 BC, the Battle of Changping had reached a stalemate, and Zhao was on the brink of disaster. On the eve of King Dan of Zhao making the infamous decision to dismiss Lian Po and appoint Zhao Kuo, a soul from the future descended with startling force.
He was Ying Zheng, the Qin Shi Huang who would conquer the six states and unify the realm. Now, he was trapped in the body of his great-grandfather Qin Zhaoxiang's greatest rival, standing on the opposite side of the foundations of his own empire.
Would he help Qin swallow Zhao, personally strangling the homeland of his future? Or resist Qin to save Zhao, making enemies of his former subjects and ancestors?
His soul was torn between blood ties and identity. But the instincts of a consummate politician led him to make his first decision, cold and ruthless: he had to prevent the Changping massacre! Burying four hundred thousand soldiers alive would not only mean Zhao's end, but also mark the beginning of a tremendous threat to Qin's future.
And so the wheels of history began to turn. He overruled the opposition and adopted Yu Qing's strategy, using extraordinary diplomatic skill to maneuver between Wei and Chu and win Zhao a chance of survival. The envoys he sent to Xianyang's Zhangtai Palace engaged in a breathtaking contest of wits with his shrewd great-grandfather and Fan Ju. Meanwhile, in Handan, he assumed the identity of King Dan of Zhao and went by the name "Zhao Zheng." With insight far ahead of his time, he reorganized the city's defenses and audited its treasuries, quietly implanting Qin's iron-fisted system into Zhao's very core.
This was a contest against himself. On one side stood Zhao's loyal and devoted subjects, Lian Po, who would defend it to the death, and the fiercely loyal Lord Pingyuan. On the other stood Qin, bound to him by blood, his great-grandfather, a master strategist, and Bai Qi, undefeated in battle.
Save Zhao, or save Qin?
The names of this book could also be called: "The First Emperor was Reborn in the State of Zhao: My Great-Grandfather Was My Enemy", "The First Emperor of Qin: When I was Reborn, I Fighted in the Enemy Country to Fight My Homeland", "The Years when Qin Shihuang was the Enemy of Zhao State and Qin State", "The Great-grandson of King Qin Zhaoxiang Became King of Zhao".
😅There is nothing to hesitate about. You are now from the same paternal line as Ying Zheng.
It's quite interesting, but I don't know what to do next when the two Zheng brothers go 1v1.
Very good, this is the first time I see someone writing this type of article. "Reborn as a monarch of an enemy country, how to deal with two countries?"
Very good, the details are a bit confusing
I feel that except for the setting of time travel, everything else is possible in history. The plot is very good, but it is too slow.
