"The Cloud Tailor Pavilion" tells the story of Xie Yunshu, a concubine-born daughter who carefully struggles to survive within the confines of a wealthy household, only to be swept into a whirlpool of political intrigue. For the sake of the family, her legitimate mother pushes her toward Gu Yan, the Prince of Jingbei, a famed general gravely wounded in battle. From their first meeting at a flower-viewing banquet in the prince’s manor to the contests of wits amid currents of intrigue at court, these two people with no prior connection are forced together by the schemes of various factions. On one side is the precarious struggle to survive in the household; on the other, the ever-shifting power struggles at court. Where will this marriage, born of mutual benefit, find its place between political intrigue and true affection? The clouds are gathering, and a storm is on its way.
