A Mortal's Path to Immortality: My Journey Begins After I Accidentally Enter the Immortal World and Buy My Freedom

Greetings, fellow Daoist. If you have come across this jade slip, then fate must have brought us together. At the end of this slip, I have recorded some of the cultivation techniques I have comprehended over a thousand years of practice.

Since the jade slip remains intact, perhaps I have already glimpsed the gateway to the upper realm. Or perhaps my cultivation has ended and I have died, only to enter the cycle of reincarnation once more.

The path to immortality is long and endless. The Great Dao is impartial, yet also merciless. I stumbled upon the path of immortality by chance, and looking back, nearly a thousand years have passed.

By sheer luck, I recently encountered an opportunity that allowed me to touch the final realm of human cultivation. I dare not make light of it.

Alas, the heart demons that arise when crossing between worlds are difficult to withstand. The karma of the past and every lingering obsession have all come to light.

During my seclusion, I pondered again and again, looking back on the ups and downs of my life and questioning whether my Dao Heart was true. In the end, I took up my brush and wrote down the story of my quest for immortality.

First, to look back on the road I have traveled and cleanse my Dao Heart.

Second, to offer a little guidance, however presumptuous, to fellow Daoists walking the same path of cultivation, and do what little I can to help.

My name is Chen Yi…
