Five history students unexpectedly take over a mysterious supermarket, only to discover that it is a temporal hub connecting different eras. When they touch old Republic-era objects on its shelves, they are suddenly transported to Nanjing in 1936, a city caught in a storm, and plunged into the tide of history on the eve of the War of Resistance. From the fires of war on the North China Plain to covert battles in the forests of the northeast, from the smoke of the civil war between the Kuomintang and the Communists to foreign battlefields in Korea, their epic journey from 1936 to 1955 ends with a call to action: “Workers of the world, unite!” The red flag will fly across the whole world! Along this sweeping journey, they are not only witnesses to history, but participants in their own destinies.
