The story takes place in "Jiangcheng", a modern metropolis that is no different from reality. The city may appear glamorous on the surface, but it is actually controlled by several entrenched business families and emerging technology upstarts through an invisible network of interests known as the "chess game." Chess players use business, media and capital as pawns to play games in every corner of the city.
