The story begins with Lin Guike wandering around the world after his family was broken up and his family dead. He encounters Su Mingyue, the female shopkeeper of a medical clinic, Yu Qingshan, a martial arts hero, Dong Wuzhuang, a powerful official in the former dynasty, and Liang Xiaoyu, a petty thief. The five people gathered and got involved in complicated palace battles, martial arts disputes and civil unrest. Along the way, they used humor and wisdom to resolve crises, experienced life and death, and witnessed growth and friendship. The bickering and misunderstandings in the team create a comedy atmosphere - from gathering, traveling, solving puzzles, to the ultimate power struggle and revenge and redemption. Times have changed, and finally everyone calmed down the troubled times and moved on to a new life, but they left behind a legend of laughter that never returned to the world.
