The Year I Met Him

On a stormy night, I deliberately crashed into the campus belle’s Porsche.

Her face turned pale with rage. “Do you know how much this car costs?”

I leisurely wiped the rain from my face. “I do. Tomorrow, it’ll be mine.”

The next day, the entire finance department was in an uproar.

The campus belle’s family company, a publicly traded firm, saw its stock price plunge as a mysterious buyer snapped up shares at rock-bottom prices.

And the top student who always came in second was sitting in the principal’s office, signing the transfer agreement.

He looked up at me with a smile. “The car and the company are yours. So who do I belong to?”
