Chinese Showbiz: Starting with Naruto

Reborn in 1998, from the start in a Tokyo attic, drowning in debt. A hellish beginning?

No. This is the starting point on the road to the summit.

Shen Mo, a corporate drone who worked himself to death at his desk in his previous life, is reborn on New Year's Eve 1998. Penniless, with his visa expired and deportation looming, he picks up a pen and, in the golden age of Japanese manga, carves out a path to the top as a Chinese artist, becoming the God of Manga!

But that's only the beginning.

He turns yen into dollars, then uses those dollars to move the world.

He buys into Tencent, investing when the company is at its most vulnerable. He single-handedly builds the internet empire worth trillions and becomes the true power behind QQ and WeChat.

He acquires Marvel at the lowest point in the superhero business, puts Iron Man and Captain America to work for him, and ushers in a Chinese era in Hollywood.

He takes control of Tsuburaya Productions and makes Ultraman Chinese-made, capturing the childhoods of all Asia.

He shorts Wall Street and builds up a massive cash reserve amid the ruins of 9/11, becoming the financial giant lurking behind the world economy.

From the “harem apartment” in Beijing's Wangjing district, packed with actresses, to the money-burning dens of Tokyo's Ginza; from a trainee base in Seoul's Gangnam district to a mansion in Beverly Hills, Hollywood.

This isn't just a story about show business. It's a global conquest of beauty, capital, power plays, and desire.

Watch Shen Mo use his vision beyond his time to build an entertainment empire spanning China, Japan, South Korea, and the United States, covering games, film, television, anime, and fashion, until the world bows at his feet!

“I came, I saw, I conquered. And, of course, I conquered in bed too.”, Shen Mo
