The Dark Calamity Seals the Gods

At the dawn of the primordial world, the Yellow-Black Ancestor witnesses Pangu create heaven and earth. Five-colored crystals condense the origin of the world, while a remnant of a dark consciousness hides among the star paths, becoming a hidden threat. The Jianmu Divine Tree connects heaven and earth, and the Earth-Quelling Stele bears the inscription “The Yellow and Black Protect All,” laying the foundation for the struggle between light and darkness. The Three Sovereigns leave marks upon their bloodlines. Nuwa mends the sky, her spirit blood becoming birthmarks; Yu the Great obtains a jade pendant that controls water. The prophecy of “kindred descendants in accord” conceals a deeper meaning, and the bloodline legacy begins its mission as a guardian of the light.

Across the Xia, Shang, and Zhou dynasties, the Nine Cauldrons link stories of the bloodlines. Xia Qi uses the Nine Cauldrons to gather the descendants’ power. Tang of Shang stabilizes the spirit veins with Nuwa’s descendants. Bi Gan uses a jade pendant to suppress the darkness, but is killed. When King Wu campaigns against Zhou, descendants of the various bloodlines join forces to resist the darkness. From the Spring and Autumn and Warring States periods through the Wei and Jin dynasties, the descendants uphold their mission amid the chaos. Guan Zhong establishes strongholds of darkness; Jie Zitui awakens the bloodlines with his blood; descendants of Cangjie protect forbidden books that suppress evil; Wei Qing controls the waters to cut off the dark energy. The tragedy of Xie Daoyun and Wang Ningzhi proves how essential faith is to the bond between kindred bloodlines.

From the Sui and Tang dynasties through the Song and Yuan, darkness lies dormant beneath an age of prosperity. Empress Dugu searches for scattered descendants. Zhao Kuangyin suppresses the darkness with the mark of Xuanyuan. Yue Fei’s Spring of Heaven Spear purifies malevolent energy, but he is killed. Some descendants lose their abilities in their complacency, while a hidden elder plants the seed of awakening with a fragment of the Jianmu tree.

In the present day, the Dark Energy Group uses technology to create a veil of darkness. Lin Chen, a descendant of Pangu, and Su Qingyue, a descendant of Nuwa, recognize each other by their tokens and join forces with Li Haoran, a descendant of Yu the Great, and Chen Xi, a descendant of Shennong, to form the “Light Squad.” They find the ruins of the Jianmu tree and awaken it using the abilities of their respective bloodlines. In the final battle, they use the tree’s “light of symbiotic spirit veins” to shatter the core of darkness. After the war, they establish the Spirit Vein Guardians Alliance. On a leaf of the Jianmu tree, they inscribe: “The bloodline carries the light, and the protection never ends.” Thus, the guardianship of the light, begun at the creation of the world, is fulfilled in the present day.
