[1970s] + [spatial dimension] + [family ensemble] + [Siheyuan] + [building a fortune] + [a family full of truly awful characters]
When Shen Zhitang was six: her birth mother remarried.
When she was ten: her mother introduced her current husband’s ex to her father.
Other people transmigrate with supplies. Shen Zhitang transmigrated with a book, plus a whole family of awful relatives.
“Wait! My dad steals chickens and mooches off rich women, and my mom remarried for money. Why is my whole family like this?”
Her mother?
The queen of green tea.
She remarried a city man and brought home fine grain.
She cries poor while introducing her current husband’s ex to her former husband.
“That rich widow’s been alone for years. Hurry up and take good care of her.”
Her father?
A foul-mouthed king of petty theft.
He has just two good qualities:
He’s handsome, and he’s good at making babies.
Her mother makes the introduction.
Her father goes to mooch.
Her grandparents look at the car that’s appeared in the courtyard and ask,
“Qingshan, why don’t you go over there again?”
The more the rich widow comes around, the more the whole family changes:
The car is bought by the rich woman Dad mooches off.
The whole family moves to the city, thanks to the rich woman.
The rich woman finds a job for Shen Zhitang’s older sister.
She introduces a partner to Shen Zhitang’s older brother.
She even pays to build Shen Zhitang’s mother a garment factory.
And Shen Zhitang?
She’s great at pretending to be sick and fragile to get attention, and she can start crying at the drop of a hat.
She takes after her father in being a layabout and her mother in being a green tea.
Growing up around them, she turns out worse than the rest of the family.
At six, she nobly reports her father for gambling.
As an adult, she makes a fortune with the help of the rich woman her father mooched off and the “book” in her spatial dimension.
[Warning ⚠️ The characters really are awful. If you can’t handle their morals, feel free to move along.]
This book is really okay, the heroine is so to my liking.
Men'er knew what she wanted in her heart, and no one could influence her.
Even if others were kind to her, she would still feel a little touched in her heart, but she would wake up when she turned around. It was time to make calculations and plans, and she would not be led by her emotions at all.
Woohoo, it's so to my liking. The heroine is really sober and knows what she wants.
