Overworked office drone Xiao Xuanfeng suddenly died, only to wake up as a nameless little breeze on Lion Camel Ridge in the world of Journey to the West. He was lamenting his fate as a disposable extra, doomed to be sent to the afterlife with a single blow from Sun Wukong five hundred years later, when a sudden “ding” rang in his mind:
[Civilization Benefits System bound! Mission: Establish a new civilizational order in this world.]
Seeing golden light flicker in the direction of Flower-Fruit Mountain, he knew the monkey was almost back. Xiao Xuanfeng steeled himself, grabbed all his worldly possessions (a few fallen leaves), and rushed toward the Water Curtain Cave. He shouted at the Handsome Monkey King seated on the stone throne:
“Great Sage! Are you hiring management trainees? I can take our Flower-Fruit Mountain public. From now on, we’ll crush our enemies with logistics when we fight!”
Sun Wukong scratched his head. “Take it public? Will that keep us fed?”
“Unlimited peaches!”
“Deal! From now on, your name is Little Whirlwind!”
And so, Journey to the West went completely off the rails.
