That Daoist wields the sun and moon and commands the stars of the heavens. Who in all the world could stand against him? The Dao turns through reincarnation, and those who join the Dao attain eternal life! I am Zhang Yan. Tell me, everyone under heaven: can you attain immortality?

Beneath the Starwatching Terrace in Jiangnan Circuit, the young Zhang Yan opened his eyes to find himself an abandoned disciple of the Daoist sect and the impoverished head of Starwatching Temple.

The imperial court sought to seize control of the Daoist sect, the martial world watched like a tiger waiting to pounce, and undercurrents stirred within the sect itself. Everyone laughed that his cultivation was gone and Starwatching Temple was on the brink of collapse.

None knew that the Celestial Master's Seal rested in his palm, allowing him to read the stars, determine fate, and wield the power of life and death.

From a Daoist temple in Jiangnan Circuit to the imperial court's inner palace, from debates on the Dao to struggles for supremacy in the martial world, he advanced step by step, establishing his authority through sheer force and treating power as his game pieces.

“When I act, why should I explain myself to the likes of you?”

Grand Commander of the Daoist sect, wielder of the Celestial Master's authority. He is ruthless, yet capable of compassion; domineering, yet still follows the Dao.
