The Great Sage Exorcises Demons

After Sun Wukong finished escorting Tang Sanzang on his pilgrimage to obtain the scriptures, he was named the Victorious Fighting Buddha. He returned to Flower-Fruit Mountain to reunite with his monkey subjects. But in the Eighteenth Level of Hell...

The resentment left behind when Sun Wukong became an immortal began to grow quietly in the underworld, absorbing its resentment and growing stronger by the day.

It mastered tremendous powers and transformed into a dark Sun Wukong, proclaiming itself the Demon King.

The Demon King seized control of the underworld and led the ghosts of Hell into the Three Realms. They stormed Heaven, drove the Jade Emperor to his death, and took control of the immortals. Then they invaded Vulture Peak, where the Buddha fell in battle and the other Buddhas were wiped out. The Demon King also unleashed the dead from the underworld, throwing the mortal world into chaos.

When the undead wreaked havoc on Flower-Fruit Mountain, Sun Wukong learned that the Three Realms had fallen into turmoil. He led his monkey subjects on a campaign to defeat the Demon King.
