In a small northwest town filled with yellow sand, young Bai Yang and his grandmother depended on each other. Her parents were Pokémon researchers and disappeared mysteriously many years ago, leaving only a silent compass and a blank illustrated book. On his eighteenth birthday, a sudden sandstorm closely linked him to an injured little fist stone and his father's dusty legacy.
As the news of the resumption of the Chinese Pokémon League spread across the land like the wind, Bai Yang, holding the illuminated illustrated book in hand, embarked on a journey to retrace his father's path. His goal is to collect all eighteen gym badges scattered across the vast mountains and rivers of China.
From the rock fortress in Ningxia, Gansu, to the secret dragon realm in the Tianshan Mountains in Xinjiang; from the vast grasslands of Inner Mongolia, to the roaring furnaces of the northeastern steel plants; from the holy ice lakes on the snowy plateau, to the gentle mist and rain in the Jiangnan water towns... Every challenge is a sharpening of tactics and a questioning of the soul.
However, the journey is much more than a simple gym challenge. A mysterious organization called the "Shan Hai Hui" shadow follows. They are pursuing the "power of the earth" that can awaken the ancient gods. Its leader is actually the former league champion. Bai Yang discovered that his father's disappearance, the Pokémon egg he accidentally obtained, and even the safety of the entire alliance were closely linked to this long-planned crisis.
When the badges are gathered together for a decisive battle at the top of the Forbidden City, Bai Yang has to face more than just the championship. He must prove that the future created by the bond between humans and Pokémon is far better than any ideal of returning to the original. What he inherited was not only his father's illustrated book and unfinished road, but also the responsibility to protect the world we grew up with.
