At the launch event for his new book, celebrated author Chen Mo suffers a devastating blow when an anonymous account called "Nightwalker Scholar" accuses him of plagiarizing his breakout novel, The Game of Power. Overnight, he falls from the heights of fame, facing online abuse and rejection by everyone close to him. Even his beloved dog is killed. As he tries to prove his innocence with his original manuscript, he accidentally touches a mysterious "@" symbol and transmigrates into the world of his own novel, becoming Mo Chen, a commander of the Embroidered Uniform Guard.
But this world has spiraled completely out of control. Shen Xinghe, the protagonist he created, is no longer a pawn to be manipulated, but a vengeful man who loathes him to the depths of his soul.
