In the midsummer of 2003, when SARS was raging, a group of medical students embarked on their internship journey ahead of schedule. Masks could not hide the youthfulness and determination in their eyes. During the days and nights in the isolation ward, they learned to fight against fear, witnessed tenderness on the edge of life and death, and lost their childishness while standing side by side. Youth is wrapped in the smell of disinfectant, and the internship years are engraved with responsibility and growth. Looking back many years later, the persistence and transformation during that special time have already become the most profound imprint in life.
The encounter and companionship by the Erhai Lake are the most vivid footnotes of youth. Later, although we went our separate ways, we each settled and shone brightly over the years. In different postures, we bloomed into flowers all over the field. Our youth never fades away, and flowers bloom forever.
