[Cat-and-Mouse Game] [Dangerous Relationship]
“I’ve stolen the world’s greatest works of art. You’re the last one.”
A phantom thief who lives by the creed “Return everything to its rightful owner” crosses paths with Wen Zhiyin, a coolheaded investigator whose calling is “Recover stolen goods.”
Their contest begins with a provocation: he breaks into her home, leaving behind only a blue poppy and a whispered message: “Miss Wen, when you hunt a phantom, have you ever considered that the phantom only wants to steal you?”
This is a high-stakes pursuit between polar opposites. When cat and mouse become accomplices, and hate and love mirror one another, they are both partners in crime and each other’s final destination.
After the story ends, he asks, “Are you still going to chase me?”
“For the rest of my life.”
From a clash between equals to an alliance forced upon them, from loathing each other to falling helplessly in love. She puts the handcuffs on him herself, yet he publicly clears her name in court.
“A thief is still a thief.”
“Then what are you? My accomplice.”
When the black market points its guns at her, he steals the core evidence against the entire criminal empire and returns covered in blood:
“Can I apply for your lifelong protection now?”
