At 22, Cao Yunze never imagined that just after graduating, he’d receive an inheritance from across the world: Constantinople, a Serie C club based in Rome, the life’s work of a Chinese grandfather he’d never met.
No System cheat, no fortune dropped from the heavens. What he faces is nearly a million euros in debt, a squad on the verge of collapse from unpaid wages, a desperate fight against relegation, and the possibility that the football association could order the club’s dissolution at any moment.
With his profound understanding of football and the management savvy honed through more than a decade of football manager games, he puts down roots on the Italian peninsula. From the darkest days of failing to avoid relegation and dropping to Serie D, to fighting his way back to Serie A, breaking the big clubs’ stranglehold, and reaching the pinnacle of Europe, he must not only turn Constantinople into a football legend, but also restore the fallen Italian peninsula to the glory of its “Little World Cup” era.
Don't write so much about the national football team.
I have read a lot of football novels, and this one is okay. It is a rare football novel that has no system, no rebirth, and no time travel.
It's not bad, but there are too many domestically written ones.
