This is an ancient conspiracy novel set during the Xuande period of the Ming Dynasty. It tells the story of Lin Wantang, a young maid of the Huanyi Bureau, who gradually awakens and grows from an involuntary chess piece in the cruel palace struggle, and finally becomes a chess player in charge of her own destiny.
She originally wanted to endure and survive, but she inadvertently glimpsed the conspiracy and became the "key" for the competition and control of many forces such as Dongchang, the Queen Mother, and Jin Yiwei. Under the pressure of the mystery of her life experience (the illegitimate daughter of the former royal family and the Ming Dynasty emperor), the secret of her bloodline, and the triple poison, she struggled to deal with the cracks. From passive survival, to active planning, to desperate counterattack, she relied on her wisdom and tenacity to uncover the truth about her father's injustice and the secrets of her mother's death.
