In 2266, the world collapses into a vast data game.
Everyone relies on awakening a status panel to fight monsters and level up. Everyone, that is, except Jiang Han, who awakens the most useless F-rank profession: UI designer.
People laugh at him. “What can that job do besides draw pictures? Design portraits for dead monsters?”
When Jiang Han spots the ugly red-and-green health bar above an S-rank school bully, it sets off his obsessive-compulsive streak.
“That health bar is hideous, and it blocks the view. I might as well delete it.”
He reaches out, drags the BOSS’s health bar straight into the Recycle Bin in the lower-right corner.
BOSS: ??? (dies on the spot)
While everyone else practices their skills, Jiang Han edits skill icons in the backend.
“Casting takes too long for mages? I’ll change it to an Instant Cast button, and turn the staff into a minigun!”
“Not enough Strength? Select all your teammates’ Volume and cut and paste it into Attack Power!”
“Can’t hurt the invincible administrator? Right-click the properties and uncheck Read Only!”
Then one day, the System’s central brain crashes, and countless viruses begin devouring the world.
Jiang Han looks at the sky full of garbled text, sighs, and opens Reconstruction Mode.
“The UI and interaction logic in this world are terrible. I’d better reinstall the whole System for you.”
