It Stares at Me from the Abyss

Students are forbidden from going near the basement beneath the school library. They say it contains an imprisoned "unspeakable thing."

I wandered in by accident and saw only an old book that seemed to breathe.

The book said that when the stars returned to their proper places, the Great Old Ones would awaken and devour the world.

That night, every one of my classmates mysteriously disappeared, leaving me alone.

The book silently appeared on my desk: "Congratulations, chosen servant."
