I Just Joined the Heavenly Sword Sect, and They Sent Me to Assassinate an Immortal Venerable?

[Lighthearted] + [Meme-filled] + [Slow-paced] + [No System]

When others transmigrate into the cultivation world, they're either gifted enough to become a holy son or find an old-timer to serve as a cheat.

Qin Xiao, on the other hand, finally got his chance to take the entrance exam at the Purple Cloud Holy Land, only to be tricked by Master Yuling into returning to the Heavenly Sword Sect. Before he could even take in the grandeur of an orthodox sect, he was dragged off to take care of his first “business deal”: assassinating the Venerable Immortal Qingmu of the Heavenly Mystery Holy Land.

Qin Xiao: “Me??? Assassinate a Venerable Immortal?!”

Master Yuling thumped his chest and promised, “Don't worry, my dear disciple. I'll help you from the shadows. He's only a Venerable Immortal, after all.”

But when the time came, Master Yuling flew away on his sword, faster than a rabbit, leaving Qin Xiao alone to be chased for eight whole blocks!

“Run, disciple! Use your sword-flying art!”

Wait! This isn't what you said orthodox cultivation would be like!

What happened to upholding justice? Why are we constantly breaking into places, peeking through windows, assassinating people, and pulling other shady stunts?

His master said earnestly, “Disciple, the sect's funds are tight. These jobs will keep us living high on the hog for years.”

Qin Xiao looked at the dilapidated sign above the Heavenly Sword Sect, then at the assassination list in his hand, still smeared with stove soot, and sank into deep thought.
