She brings a snail to work, names it “President Gu,” and reports on her slacking-off antics.
She takes the overbearing CEO’s black card and immediately donates the money to charity.
When someone pushes her into the pool, she backstrokes while singing “A Mighty Rose.”
When she’s kidnapped, she teaches her kidnappers how to make money legally.
Her motto: go crazy within the law and don’t stress yourself out.
Meanwhile, Gu Group’s CEO, Gu Shiyan, is a cold, abstinent man on the outside, but underneath is a dangerously obsessive man who’s been in love with Su Nian for ten years:
He collects her eraser crumbs and strands of hair.
He sneaks into her home late at night to carve names into her houseplants.
He rehearses their chance encounter three hundred times.
Every carefully planned romantic gesture is undone by her subverting the script.
When a theatrical white lotus heroine meets a CEO whose perfect image is falling apart, the whole melodramatic Mary Sue plot goes off the rails!
The whole cast subverts the tropes with nonstop goofy antics. Their mutual pursuit is full of hilarious push-and-pull, and this romance, normal on the surface but unhinged underneath, only gets sweeter the crazier it gets!
