Clear-headed, self-reliant innocent girl & gentle, powerful heir

Yu Xi, the adopted daughter whom the Pei family cherished like a precious jewel and everyone doted on, was abruptly abandoned at the age of seventeen.

When she returned, she was Tang Shuwei, and his friend's fiancee.

One-line summary: A story about a modern-born heir to a powerful family, bound by traditional conventions, trying to break free of his cage and spend his life with the woman he loves.

He was a nobleman atop the clouds, admired by all. Though born in modern times, from childhood he was trapped by his family's rigid old-fashioned rules, and had to observe century-old traditions in every word and deed.

To preserve his family's century-long glory, while his peers were still clinging to their parents, he had already been thrown into endless training, repeatedly hammered and honed.

Outsiders saw only his boundless prestige, his power to command and his seeming omnipotence.

She alone cared whether he was tired, whether he was hurting.
