A Century at the Foot of Jin Su Mountain

In 1921, disaster struck the Chen family in Juancheng, Shandong. They fled their hometown and settled in Shishan Village on Jinsu Mountain in northern Weibei. In the famine of 1929, they escaped to the mountains of Yijun, enduring the pain of selling their daughter just to give the rest of the family a chance to survive. After weathering hardship, they returned home. Over the next century, the Chen family stood alongside their neighbors amid the tides of history, building a life full of warmth and everyday joys on the Loess Plateau. Their story captures the resilience and warmth of four generations, while reflecting China's transformation through the decades.
