Lu Zhuo pushes her away for the sake of her future. His emotional neglect makes her feel unloved, and she wants to see him show some emotion for her, even if it means hurting him. So he falls into darkness for her, becoming a wolf in sheep’s clothing. Once Qi Ru understands him, she tries to be a little bad so she can fit into his world. But he’s afraid she’ll lose her innocence because of him, so he keeps pushing her away. She keeps pursuing him head-on, helping him overcome his insecurities.
He turns away from the darkness and pulls her into his arms.
“If you can have a better life, I don’t mind not being by your side.”
