April in Tokyo still held a slight chill.
On the day I transferred back from Shanghai, I saw her once amid the crowds at Tokyo Station. Neither of us realized it at the time. Later, a seating chart marked with a red circle placed us at the same desk. That was all.
Chitose Shirasaki was the kind of person who never stood out in a crowd. Her grades were steady, her manner polite, and even her smile seemed perfectly measured. But in the line for medical checkups, she held her arm after the blood draw and endured the pain without a word. For the first time, I realized that some people are quiet not because they are indifferent, but because silence has become a habitual defense.
I was never good at expressing myself. My mother was in Japan, my father in China. I was used to thinking in two languages, but rarely did I actually speak my thoughts aloud. Half a desk separated us, along with an unspoken boundary between our sides.
“Here is far enough.”
Neither of us crossed the line.
But at some point, I began deliberately slowing my steps in the hallway. She would gently push the desk back toward me. A strawberry candy appeared beside my textbook, like a declaration that needed no explanation.
Spring of our final year of high school should have belonged only to exam papers and countdowns.
But through those silent early-morning study sessions, on the wind-battered rooftop, and in the moments when we turned to the page about Natsume Soseki, we slowly came to understand
Some relationships do not begin all at once.
They simply draw closer, quietly, as they keep their distance.
It's beautiful, it's beautiful, it's beautiful. I have forgotten how long it has been since I calmly captured these details and experienced every bit of it. . . I kneel down to the author. The last time such a good-looking novel was "Transfer to Tokyo and Meet Her Flying on One Wing". Both books have their own merits. If "Single Wing" by Di Gua is a perfect day light, then this book is the most perfect human observation diary and the most peaceful and beautiful poem. It brings peace of mind. 😢 As I read, I became more and more aware of this feeling. It was the same feeling I had when I read "The Shadow Stealer" in sixth grade. The crowd has nothing to do with me. I am mostly me, me, and just me. I think what is more real than other works is that "I" is not omnipotent. Even high school students of this age will have their own little thoughts. She is not a perfect heroine, she is not like a character in previous tragedies or comedies, she is like a living human being around her. When I read the memory of explaining why I wanted to choose the Ministry of Education, I always felt that the teacher's words were not only spoken to Chitose classmates, but more like the author's personal experience. An author who can write such delicate words must also be able to hear the different sounds of rain. Editor 2: I also thoroughly read the words written at the end - it was a novel that I had been reading for a long time, but I put it aside after seeing the extras. I felt the same as watching the K-on movie version. I was afraid that I would not read it after finishing it. As long as I don't continue reading, will the story not be over? I like this kind of work and writing style. I am also waiting for my Shirasaki Chitose, and I am also walking on my own road. Later, I read many works on Tomato. The stories were very interesting, but this one seemed to be the only one that calmed my nerves. It brought me a kind of stable happiness.
The author's writing style is very good, and the narrative is plain but step-by-step. This book has a very "quiet" feeling, not only the writing style is quiet, but also the mentality of reading this book. It is impossible to read it in an impetuous state. It is very artistic. Personally, I feel it is different from the mainstream direction of Tomato, but it is also very memorable to read calmly. Overall, it's very good, but the description of the environment and the description of the characters in some paragraphs are a bit too lengthy (for Tomato). Even if you read a whole page of descriptions, you will still feel a little dizzy. Then there's the plot. As I see it now, it's a gradual progression, which is pretty good. However, I feel that if there were some foreshadowing or echoes, it might be more amazing (or maybe I haven't seen it yet). All in all, it's still excellent. Alas, after reading this, I am very envious of such romantic love.
Reading it gives you a feeling of calming down, it is plain but not boring, steady but not lacking in excitement.
Like a little poem, there are no exciting ups and downs, but a light fragrance, like a spring essay
No one reads the classic good books. Ah, every time like this, I am afraid that the update will be discontinued because of the lack of people. 😩
The writing is still very good and warm, but there are some repetitions and incoherence in some places.
Thanks to the author for letting me know what happiness is.
Lightly and gently, with a soft heart
The author's writing style is really good, and the story is written like a light poem. I like it very much. It's not easy to come across a treasure trove of masterpieces and authors. I hope the author will continue writing!
I think it is written like a prose. In the relationship between the male and female protagonists, the female protagonist has always taken the initiative. The female protagonist takes the initiative to contact the male protagonist, confess her feelings, and propose marriage. The male protagonist is very reserved, and the female protagonist is very proactive emotionally, but there is a period of time when she does not feel safe. The male protagonist will use actions to give the female protagonist a sense of security. The two of them turned their feelings into a poem.
