Who hasn’t been crushed by all the rules and restrictions of real life until they feel like cursing? Got a fire burning inside with nowhere to vent, ready to explode? Then come take a look at this hellhole where “order comes first.” Listen up: breaking the rules here isn’t rebellion. It’s the damn cleverest way to stay alive!
Don’t give me that stuff about overwhelming combat power and fighting tooth and nail! This is a game of brains, of sharpening your mind: use rules to dismantle rules, logic to beat logic. It’s a hundred times more satisfying than throwing a punch! (You know how it is: the ultimate flex is using your opponent’s own rules to leave them speechless.)
In the near future, the Order Federation uses a social scoring system that encompasses everything to create a perfectly harmonious facade. From birth to death, every citizen’s behavior, social interactions, and even the slightest fluctuations in emotion are quantified, evaluated, and guided. On the surface, it offers “corrective services,” but in reality, it’s the ultimate disciplinary machine for maintaining the system’s stability.
Our protagonist, Wei Gui, is a young officer whom the System has singled out for extra scrutiny because his name sounds like something else. He joins the Bureau with absolute faith in the rules. His first assignment is to “cure” a poet whose “gray poetry” cannot be classified by the System. Yet after clash upon clash over the rules, strange golden writing begins to appear on the employee ID chip implanted in his wrist. The words not only reveal the targets’ deeper psychological logic, but even start pointing out flaws in the rules themselves.
And so, a silent upheaval begins to take root at the very heart of the system...
