The Daily Life of an Underworld Office Drone

While everyone else scrambles to climb the corporate ladder, I hustle for the Underworld's KPIs.

My name is Xie Bining, a White Impermanence at the Underworld's Seventh Office. My main job is reaping souls, and my side gig is telling deadpan jokes.

My partner, Fan Wuxie, is a Black Impermanence: handsome, taciturn, and a System expert. His daily task is filling out forms for me after I get reported.

Our System crashes every day, and whenever the King of Hell is in a bad mood, the whole Underworld gets depressed.

We work ourselves to the bone for our KPIs. If we don't earn enough merit, next month's allowance gets cut.

AI coworkers are stealing our jobs, the Western underworld is here for an exchange visit, and I even have to moonlight as a variety show host.

Reaping souls? No, it's just the utterly ordinary workday of an Underworld civil servant.

Today, once again, I'm scrambling to meet deadlines in both the world of the living and the dead for a measly 0.5 merit, alongside my aloof-but-warmhearted partner, who might just be an AI that gained sentience.
