In 210 BC, by the shores of the Eastern Sea, I glimpsed the secrets of heaven:
“Sudden death at Shaqiu, Zhao Gao's forged edict, Fusu's suicide, Hu Hai's slaughter of his own brothers: the Qin Empire fell in its second generation!
The flames of war between Chu and Han reignited, and China was plunged into a century of bloodshed once more!
I returned from my visions and gripped the Tai'e Sword tightly.
I shall execute the treacherous, imprison the rebellious prince, and bring Han Xin, Xiao He, and Zhang Liang under my command.
Heaven grants me only ten years.
In those ten years, I shall:
Abolish harsh laws and foster the Hundred Schools of Thought, make paper and open the road to the Western Regions;
Build the Great Wall and repair the Lingqu Canal, lower taxes and establish the imperial examinations.
I shall remake the Qin Empire and carry civilization a thousand years into the future.
Atop Xianyang Palace, the white-haired emperor's oath rang through the heavens:
“While I live, I shall defend our land, expand our borders, and lay the foundations for all ages to come!”
“Even in death, I shall become a dragon's soul and protect China for all eternity!”
Yet deep within the secrets of heaven, I saw more than the fall of Qin...
Two thousand years of rise and decline lie within a single thought of mine.
There are too many repeated chapters, weird pronouns, and illogical logic.
