On the first night Lin Yuechu is pulled into the “Infinite Amusement Park,” she finds herself in a man-eating ancient castle.
She discovers a silver thread inside her body. It can touch and remember, and sense living things and gaps in the rules. In Red Paper Village, she learns not to cut out paper figures; in the Gray Building, she learns not to count the floors; on the third night of the paper lanterns, she walks around the courtyard with her eyes closed for six whole hours. The thread grows from forty centimeters to one meter, and from one strand to three. It shifts from passive sensing to actively piercing things.

These fragments can’t be discarded or fully digested. They collect at the roots of the threads, like a scab growing thicker and thicker.
She doesn’t make the journey alone. Lin Xi calls after her, “Slow down, my legs are short.” Pei Yu draws maps in advance and marks every sheltered spot. A He stands silently in the corner but never misses a thing. Chen Yanqiu takes her mask and ventures into deeper fissures. They go from strangers to “Triangular Prism,” and make it out of an A-rank instance alive, with no one missing.
Then, at the bottom of the deep well, she opens a notebook left behind by someone who came before, beneath an old oil lamp. Tucked into the final page is a scrap of paper bearing a single line: She is waiting for you.
Yuechu looks up. Deep in the shadows on the well wall, a pair of eyes that don’t belong to any of her teammates is watching her for the first time.
She is P-0742, the forty-second experimental subject of the seventh batch. The master control. The ruler. But right now, she is just a person holding a lamp deep underground, with an unknown path ahead of her and four
I could have given myself a five-star review, but that's not too much, right?
