How Did I, the Emperor's Consort, End Up Winning Over the Eunuch of Nine Thousand Years?

How did an imperial consort end up winning over the Eunuch of Nine Thousand Years?! (Original title: Moss on the Golden Steps)

[Sinister, ruthless Eunuch of Nine Thousand Years vs. a cool, aloof imperial consort with no favor]

(Half a stepmother romance) (He seems ruthless, but is he actually a lovesick fool for her alone? He seems sinister, but is he really a puppy with a surprising side? She seems aloof, but does she secretly enjoy watching him get humbled?)

[The calculating, smiling seventh prince vs. the bright, bold fifth princess]

My heart seeks no favor from the emperor, only the sound of your whispered words.

Behind towering red walls, moss spreads over golden steps. There is no tenderness to be found in the power struggles of the imperial palace.

He is Zhao Qianhong, the Eunuch of Nine Thousand Years, whose power holds the court in its grasp. Sinister and ruthless, he wields absolute power. With a flick of his fingers, he can decide the fate of the palace and the court. Everyone fears his name and dreads his power, never knowing that beneath his heart of cold iron lies a tenderness no one has ever seen.

She is an unfavored consort in a forgotten corner of the palace. With lowered eyes and a demure expression, she survives silently in the shadows of the vermilion walls, like moss by the steps. She makes no demands and fights for nothing, yet somehow ends up caught in his game of power.

Strangers at first, their paths never meant to cross, the pair become entangled amid the palace’s secret battles. He uses political schemes as a shield; she wields patience like a blade. Above the golden steps lies power that makes thousands bow, while beneath them, moss quietly witnesses the feelings growing between the two.

There is no love in the palace and no mercy in the world of power. But when the bone-deep sinister Eunuch of Nine Thousand Years meets Li Cairen, gentle yet strong-willed, can moss finally take root on the golden steps?
