The Heavenly Way of the Kingpin

Luo Sen, a poor vendor at the local market, fights back when a gang of thugs pushes him to the brink. That desperate act draws him into Yuntai City's criminal underworld. Starting as a street peddler, he takes control of the market and the docks, then establishes an international trading company to launder smuggling profits. He bribes and recruits people across the establishment, playing the police, prosecutors, courts, and government against one another. In time, he becomes the godfather of Yuntai City's underworld, while waging a cat-and-mouse game for more than a decade against upright police officers, undercover agents, and principled officials. Along the way, family, brotherhood, betrayal, and redemption are all caught up in the struggle.
