Lord Xiao, You're Pouring Your Jealousy All Over Me

The little sunshine decides she’s done loving him, and only then does the cool guy start to panic.

Xu Lenning has been Xie Xiao’s “best buddy” for three years: bringing him breakfast, watching him play basketball, and writing him into every love song she composes. Everyone can tell she likes him. Everyone except Xie Xiao, who grins and ruffles her hair. “Lenning? She’s like a little sister to me.”

Then he eagerly tries to set her up with someone. “Cheng Che’s a great guy. Why don’t you two give it a try?”

Xu Lenning looks at his smile and suddenly feels exhausted. “Sure,” she says with a smile, her eyes sparkling.

From then on, she takes back all her light.

But Xie Xiao starts losing sleep. He watches her smile at someone else, watches her share an umbrella with someone else, and feels his heart ache with panic. Some warmth, it turns out, is only recognized as oxygen after it’s gone.

Later, the dashing, rebellious Master Xiao starts clumsily arranging “chance encounters,” turns down a top-tier job offer, and even begs her to share a place with him. “Little Lenning, teach me what love is. I’ll pay you with a lifetime.”

I lost my sunshine with my own hands, and now I’ll spend the rest of my life chasing that ray of light.
