Siheyuan: Joining the Bureau by Snatching Lou Xiao'e First

Engineer Liu Jianjun wakes up one morning and transmigrates to 1958, in the world of "Poultry-Filled Siheyuan". He has become the only son of Master Liu, a veteran technician.

The moment he opens his eyes, he’s in the middle of a battlefield:

Yi Zhonghai talks about “neighbors helping one another” over his enamel mug, while secretly scheming to secure his retirement;

Liu Haizhong puffs out his belly and throws his weight around, dreaming of becoming a leader;

Yan Bugui works his abacus, begrudging even a single peanut;

Xu Damao carries his film projector, plotting how to steal the eldest daughter of the Lou family from her suitors;

Silly Zhu clutches his lunchbox, convinced he’s the Siheyuan’s invincible champion...

Liu Jianjun smiles.

He carries technical manuals sixty years ahead of their time, and has a clear understanding of the era’s course.

You play the morality card? I’ll tackle technical challenges.

You squabble in the Siheyuan? I’ll modernize the equipment at the steel mill.

You’re after the Lou family’s fortune? I want Lou Xiao'e herself, and I’ll make sure the whole family gets out safely.

From a Grade Three Technician to a Grade Seven Engineer, from deputy chief engineer to a rising star in the Ministry of Industry.

Yi Zhonghai’s retirement schemes fall apart, Liu Haizhong’s dreams of becoming a leader turn to dust, and Xu Damao’s blind-date banquet becomes my engagement party.
