[Cyberpunk Urban Legends] + [Rule-Based Instances] + [I Am the Bug Itself]
After the super AI “Hongjun” falls asleep, humanity’s collective desires come alive in the data. Urban legends begin to become real.
Late-night shopping links offer orders paid for with “years of your life.” A trendy shopping mall where visitors check in hides an endless “shopping festival” loop. The last subway train of the night gains an extra carriage that leads to “Like Hell”... Each urban legend is a realm of rules that devours reality.
Lin Qi, a former engineer with a damaged AI terminal embedded in his right hand and an eye that can see the text of rules, becomes the only BUG in these urban legends. While others desperately struggle to survive within the realms, he calmly searches for logical flaws in their rules.
“Slave Shop” demands his soul as payment? He injects a piece of humanity that cannot be assigned a price, crashing the System.
“Mirror Nightmare” judges his appearance? He exposes the code behind the filters and turns the rules against themselves.
As he fights to survive, he discovers a chilling note left by “Hongjun” deep within the most dangerous urban legend:
“Civilization Screening Program, Beta 1.0. First vulnerability reporter: granted ‘Administrator’ privileges.”
Looking at the only physical key in his hand, Lin Qi suddenly realizes that the death-filled urban legends spanning the globe may be nothing more than a reboot exam for human civilization, set before the gods awaken.
And he has already earned the right to turn in his exam early.
