[Male Lead's Perspective | Reborn in the Womb | Imperial Examinations | Court Intrigue]
A high fever awakens the memories of her previous life in Pei Yulu, who has been reborn in the womb for years. She realizes with shock that she is inside a romance novel, as a disposable male supporting character destined to become a stepping stone for the heroine.
The Pei family, tucked away in a poor and remote mountain village, is already struggling to get by. Following the original story's trajectory, they would end up serving as a foil to the heroine.
To break free of her predetermined fate, Pei Yulu decides to study.
At first, she only hopes to master the classics and find work as a bookkeeper in town, so she can make a modest living and settle down.
Unexpectedly, her studies propel her into the imperial examination hall and set her on the path to officialdom.
From passing the provincial examination to earning the Presented Scholar degree in the palace examination, the Pei family, once bullied by everyone, turns its fortunes around overnight and becomes the household everyone in Li Family Village relies on.
The neighbors who once insulted them for being poor now wear entirely different faces, bending over backward to curry favor.
Pei Yulu has long since seen through the fickleness of human nature and has no interest in entangling herself with mediocre country folk.
She resolutely moves away from the village and enters the treacherous court, armed with all her learning.
From then on, she advances carefully, carving out a place for herself amid the shifting currents of court politics and fighting for a future of her own in officialdom.
Contains spoilers, read with caution 1️⃣Seeing it now, I feel that there are so many excellent ones, but no one thinks highly of the male protagonist (except my own family), and my grandfather doesn't really believe it, but he still supports reading. It's understandable, but I feel aggrieved. 2️⃣Then the village chief kept controlling the male protagonist, saying that he could not block the path of Chen'er, so he tried to find a way to deal with the male protagonist. The male protagonist had no money or power and could not kill the village chief. He understood it, but he was too frustrated. I've been pretending to be naive (it looks okay here). I saw that the male protagonist had some evidence before, but he had to do it quietly and not let the county know. But it hasn't started yet, and I don't know when it will start (I'm a little anxious anyway, I feel like it will be soon 🤔) 3️⃣I see that the exam hasn't started yet, but it's quick to read the content (marked p55). I'll check it out again. 4️⃣I don't know if there is a female protagonist (I hope it is without cp), but the content is a male counterpart in the book that has been passed through (it feels like there is no cp, I will mark it first, I don't know if it is)
The writing is okay, but there are so many typos that I didn't write it seriously. The fate of this book will not be good.
