“Son! Tell your mother the truth. Are you the head of a pyramid scheme?!”
Lin Feng, a broke college student, has just transferred 120,000 yuan in medical expenses to the hospital when his mother rushes over with her phone. On the screen is a news story warning people to beware of new pyramid schemes. No one knows he earned the money by finding hidden treasures at street stalls. A few days ago, he found an ancient jade pendant covered in verdigris at a junkyard. When he put it on that night, it activated the Qiankun Jade Pendant of an ancient cultivator. Inside, he found not only the Azure Cloud Cultivation Art but also a miniature herb garden where he could grow spirit herbs.
By day, he uses a cultivator’s superhuman spiritual sense to sweep through the antiques market, making a fortune from rare treasures he picks up for a song. At night, he hides in his rented apartment to cultivate and grow spirit herbs, rapidly advancing from the Qi Refining stage. But the more he tries to keep a low profile, the more suspicious his mother becomes. She chases after him every day with anti-pyramid-scheme videos, grilling him at every turn and telling everyone, “My son has gone astray.”
To make matters worse, unscrupulous antique dealers envy his appraisal skills, evil cultivators covet his Qiankun Jade Pendant, and arrogant urban elites want to trample him underfoot. Lin Feng has to put up with being mistaken for a pyramid-scheme boss while using his appraisal skills to face-slap his rivals, crushing villains with his cultivation, and still finding time to explain to his mother, “I really haven’t been running a pyramid scheme. I’m cultivating immortality.”
When he cures his mother and becomes a legend in the appraisal world, he discovers this is only the beginning. He must tear through the barriers between worlds and take his friends and family with him as he ascends to the immortal realm. And he’ll make sure his mother sees for herself: her son isn’t a pyramid-scheme boss. He’s the true Supreme Immortal of the realms!
