When “Bankrupt Witch” Andi, who had gone through 3,114 cycles of reincarnation, wagered her last breath on her next life, she never imagined
That her next incarnation would be a fool who could sleep her wings into braids, while Angelie, the immortal witch who had taken on the “Caretaker Agreement,” was facing the biggest crisis of her career:
Teach her to identify herbs? She fed the cat a poisonous plant, thinking it was mint, nearly turning the black cat Coalball into “Sleeping Beauty of the Cat World.”
Teach her a lighting spell? She produced a full-blown magical fireworks show and singed half of her mentor's blue hair. Angelie had to shout, “One more stunt and you're giving Coalball baths for a month!”
Then one day, the girl suddenly got the hang of it. She rewrote spells through poetry to give them hidden buffs, chanting the lighting spell to the tune of “The stars yawned.” The resulting orb glowed so softly it could serve as a nightlight. When turning a stone into an apple, she added rabbit ears and insisted, “It said it wanted to hear a song.”
Most people learn magic to fight. Not her. She plants flowering poems among the ruins, writes “Rain is the fragments of a rainbow fallen from the clouds” in phosphorescent wing dust, and even composes “please quit” poems for demon experiments. One nearly resigned on the spot to become a dandelion farmer.
Angelie watches her apprentice use her literary talent to “outdo” the entire magical world.
Coalball: (whacks away the “Ode to a Black Cat” leaf Andi offers with its tail) Meow. (Translation: Cut the nonsense. Where are my canned treats?)
Just as the eastern beastfolk come charging with spiked clubs...
