Journey to the West: This Monk Talks Reason, the Physical Kind

After transmigrating as Tang Sanzang, who has just set out from Chang'an City, he awakens the [Win People Over with Virtue System] in a world of gods and Buddhas everywhere and demons running rampant. But the “virtue” in this System stands for “martial virtue.”

Looking at his frail body, Tang Sanzang knows that “the truth is only within artillery range, and Buddhist teachings only carry weight behind a fist.” So he makes a decision that defies his ancestors: put off the pilgrimage and build himself a massive back first!

Three years later, a muscular monk strides out of Chang'an, standing two meters thirty tall, his muscles bulging like granite, and carrying two five-hundred-catty dumbbells, formerly the Nine-Ringed Monk's Staff.

A tiger gets in his way? He smashes its skull with one punch. “Amitabha Buddha. I shall send you to paradise, benefactor, at no charge.”

At the foot of Five Elements Mountain, he doesn't need to remove any talisman. He uproots the entire mountain with one hand and hurls it toward the horizon like a projectile.

On this journey, Tang Sanzang doesn't ride a horse, because it can't carry him, and he doesn't recite scriptures, because he recites them with brute force. Wukong becomes the baggage carrier, while Bajie serves as a mobile protein reserve. Watching the Eighty-One Tribulations get beaten into submission one after another, Tathagata Buddha says with a tremble, “Someone tell Sanzang I'll personally deliver the scriptures to Chang'an. Don't let him come to Spirit Mountain. It can't withstand one of his punches!”
