The Legend of Su Banxian

The down-on-his-luck fortune-teller Su Yang returns to his hometown with a Jialing motorcycle and half a tattered copy of the I Ching.

In Xinglong Town, he's “Master Su the Clairvoyant,” able to find lost pigs, read faces, and change people's fortunes.

In Haizhu City, he's a “mechanic,” crouched in an auto repair shop with grease-stained hands and a cold eye on the wealthy.

A tide of capital sweeps in, the small town launches into a frenzy of demolition, and the rich become mired in a swamp of competing interests.

While everyone else is swept up in the fever of getting rich overnight, Su Yang hears the “weeping” of the dragon vein beneath the ruins.

He wields feng shui like a blade, using a torrential downpour to tear away the corrupt's disguises.

He uses fortune-telling by written characters as a guide, exposing a massive pig-butchering scam single-handedly.

“The hardest thing in this world to repair isn't a broken-down machine. It's a person's shattered heart.”

In the world of fame and fortune, he enters the game, breaks it apart, and plots his own moves. In the end, he simply waves goodbye, climbs onto his motorcycle, and disappears into the vast night.

The world of heroes and outlaws has faded away, but no one dares interpret the fortune he left behind to this day.
