When the capital’s greatest candy maker meets a coldhearted general, a paper contract turns into a sweet romance built on true affection.
The quirky folk candy maker Su Su unexpectedly saves Shen Lie, the seriously wounded General Who Guards the North. To escape her family’s attempts to force her into marriage, she signs a fake marriage contract with the “Living Yama.” But she never expects this marriage, which began as a transaction, to gradually become the sweetest legend in Chang'an.
Lighthearted romance + everyday food delights + political intrigue beneath the surface. Sweet but never cloying, with a little angst amid all the pampering (a little angst is good for the soul).
