The Top Student Who Stumbled into Show Business

At the celebration banquet, newly crowned Best Actress Liu Yongwei was pressed by reporters about her love life.

She smiled at the cameras. "For now, I'm focused on education and film."

Backstage, Su Nanchuan blocked her way. His tie was slightly askew, and in his hand was a photocopy of the paper she had published as a freshman, about educational innovation in impoverished regions. The dog-eared pages had been thumbed until their edges were frayed.

"Liu Yongwei," he said in a hoarse voice, all his arrogance gone. "I don't want to sign you anymore... I want to sign a lifelong contract. I'll be your first student and learn how to... love you properly."
