I am the rules of the Dark River, Su Muyu, who wields an umbrella without spilling blood.
He is the Dark River’s forbidden taboo, Su Changhe, who will stop at nothing to achieve his goals.
Ten years side by side, then enemies overnight. He wants to overturn the Dark River. I must kill him with my own hands.
Until one rainy night, in the abandoned courtyard where he was hiding from pursuers, I saw him digging with his bare hands for the escape route I had buried ten years ago: a chest of gold and silver enough to live in comfort for three lifetimes, and an old note bearing just four words: “Don’t look back.”
Covered in blood, he clutched the note and rasped, “Su Muyu… Did you plan all along for me to end up here?”
My blue umbrella tilted in the wind and rain. I answered a different question:
“I never planned your path. I left this hope for myself.”
When one’s archenemy becomes the only way home, the outcome of this life-or-death game was written long ago in those words: “Don’t look back.”
[Reading guide] Obsessive, unhinged undertaker × cool-headed, rule-abiding umbrella ghost | Fierce opposition and unwavering favoritism | Blood and turmoil within the Dark River organization | The two leaders join forces to break the deadlock | Happy ending confirmed
The plot is so exciting! The characters are vivid, the only drawback is that there are a lot of repeated words, but it doesn't affect the viewing experience! Love this book! But why is the traffic so bad? There are so few people. . . There are too many repetitions. . . Either injured or comatose, the two of them were lucky enough to survive. . . Bai Hehuai is really exhausted as a mother. It's still possible, I hope the author will work harder
The writing is so good. If you don't read it, I feel sorry for you.
It's my favorite style,
