In a semi-developed mountain village in southern Henan, a series of seemingly "evil" serial murders occurred. The death conditions of the victims were consistent with the long-lost local ritual of "sending the mountain god off". The protagonist is a fringe detective who is cold on the outside and hot on the inside, and is partnered with a down-and-out villain who knows some evil ways.
