The story takes place in a continent called "Yunlu". Thousands of years ago, a catastrophe known as "Nirvana" swept across the world, cutting off the "spiritual veins", the source of most spiritual energy in the world, causing gods and demons to retreat and all things to wither. Nowadays, the only spiritual energy left in the world is thin and mixed. Practitioners need to rely on their innate "spiritual core" to slowly breathe out, or find "spiritual vein fragments" scattered everywhere as a source of power. Yunlu consists of the "Sky Empire" in the center and several principalities on the border, maintaining a fragile peace.
