In the 1980s, a mountain village boy named Chen Che studied under a reclusive master and learned the ancient wisdom of “seizing opportunities and riding the tide.” As China embarked on reform and opening up, he descended from the mountains and entered the wider world, applying a thousand-year-old tradition to modern problems and breaking new ground in business, antiques appraisal, and medicine.
